Werner Jr. (1946-2002) WATERLOO Charles "Chuck" Frederick Werner 56, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 30, at Allen Hospital of natural causes. He was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Waterloo, son of Charles Frederick Sr.

and Zona Wollenberg Wilcox Werner. He married Connie Stroh Aug. 3, 1968, in Council Bluffs, and they later divorced. A graduate of West High School, Mr. Werner received his bachelor of arts degree from St.

Olaf College in Minnesota and served in the Charles U.S. Navy stateside during the Vietnam War. Werner Jr. He worked as a salesman and owned his own businesses. Survived by: a son, Charles "Charlie" Frederick III of Waterloo; two daughters, Kristin (Brian) Hill of Des Moines and Libby Boileau of Waterloo; granddaughter; and a sister, Kathryn (Tom) Purdon of Tucson, Ariz.

Preceded in death by: his parents. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Helen Nabholz (1912-2002) LA PORTE CITY Helen Hilton Nabholz, 89, of 12 Bruce Lane, died Tuesday, July 30, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from complications of renal failure. She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in rural Brandon, daughter of Roscoe B. and Bessie DeLong Potter.

She married Charles Hilton April 4, 1942, in Missouri, and he died July 5, 1977. She married Frank Nabholz Nov. 28, 1979, in La Porte City, and he died March 18, 1983. She attended Southern Business College, Helen Miami, State Teachers College, Cedar Nabholz Falls, Upper Iowa College, Fayette, and the University of Iowa, Iowa City. She was a teacher in the rural schools in Buchanan County and Black Hawk County for six years, taught seven years in Brandon and 20 years for the La Porte City schools, retiring in 1969.

Survived by: three nieces, Mary Harper and Carol Ellison, both of Cedar Falls, and Bonnie Hooyman of Winfield, Ill. Preceded in death by: a daughter, Ramona Kay Hilton; and a sister, Catherine Ahrens. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Friday at Brandon Cemetery, Brandon. There will be no visitation.

Fleck, 65, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 30, at Covenant Medical Center. He was born March 24, 1937, in Davenport, son of Guy and Helen Holst Fleck. He married Carol Collins in 1973, in Waterloo, and they later divorced. Mr. Fleck was a truck driver for more than 25 years, and for the past 16 years worked for Nestle Transportation DeKalb, Ill.

Survived by: two daughters, Michelle Ralph Fleck (James) Hoskins of Waterloo and Autum call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Parkersburg; visitation 3 to 8 Memorials: may be directed to the family. p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Noelting (1918-2002) WATERLOO Dena N. Noelting, 84, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 30, at Allen Hospital of respiratory failure. She was born on Feb. 24, 1918, in Butler County, daughter of Peter and Dena WaltersWeichers. She married Kenneth Noelting Dec.

25, 1944, in Kelsey, and he preceded her in death in February 1984. Mrs. Noelting was a member of Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church where she was very active in church affairs. Survived by: two sons, Jim (Sandy) Noelting of Cedar Falls and David (LaDonna) Noelting of Waterloo; a daughter, Jacquelin L. Jensen of Waterloo; a brother, Donald "Bud" Weichers of Aplington; a sister, La Verda Kressig of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Julie (Eric) Ritland, Kristen, Matthew, Molly, Jared, Adam and Lauren Noelting; and seven great children.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Janee Petersen; three brothers, Richard "Dick," John and Raymond Weichers; and three sisters, Anna Miller, Hazel Goodsell and Bernice DeVore. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Voss (1946-2002) WATERLOO- David Allan Voss, 56, of International Falls, formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, July 30, of lung cancer. He was born July 6, 1946, in Cedar Falls, son of Floyd and Marvel I. Thompson Voss. He married Katherine Fluke July 14, 1984.

Mr. Voss was a 1964 graduate of State College High School, now the University of Northern Iowa Price Lab School, and attended Iowa State University and the University of Hawaii. Upon his return from Hawaii, he started a fish and pet store in Cedar Falls and later in Waterloo where he started successful businesses known as Professional Tropicals and Aquatic Leasing Co. He imported, bred and sold tropical fish for more than 20 years, semiretiring in 1999 and moving to International Falls, where he worked briefly for United Health Care and Rainy Lake One Stop. Survived by: his wife; a brother, Merlyn "Bill" of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Mary Mommer of Dike.

Preceded in death by: his parents; grandparents; and two sisters, Betty Anderson and Joyce Kruse. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday at Green Larson Mortuary, International Falls, and a memorial service is pending for next week in Waterloo. His body was cremated, and there will be no visitation. Sawyer 68, of Independence, died Tuesday, July 30, at Peoples Memorial Hospital, Independence, of a heart attack. He was born Sept. 21, 1933, in Waterloo, son of Howard and Tippie Ashcraft Sawyer. He married Carole Ellin Dec. 3, 1970, i in Evansdale.

Mr. Sawyer worked at Titus Manufacturing, Ellis Hotel, in trucking and as a farmer. Survived by: his wife; two sons, Dallas of Waterloo and Howard of Anamosa; two daughters, Norma (Richard) Sims and Tina Sawyer, both of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; brother, Walter of Ham Lake, and a sister, Harrison, Ark. Tschirgi (1926-2002) REINBECK Marjorie "Margie" Lucy Tschirgi, 75, of Louisville, formerly of Reinbeck, died July 21, at the Hospice Care Center, Louisville, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Oskaloosa, daughter of Lloyd C. and Ann Cutter Child. She married Paul T.

Tschirgi June 25, 1950, in Nevada. He died Dec. 11, 1986. Mrs. Tschirgi was a homemaker.
