Zmolek (1949-2002) DIKE Louis Zmolek, 53, of Dike, died Monday, July 29, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, following a lengthy illness. He was born March 15, 1949, in Waterloo. Survived by: his wife, Susan; and a daughter, Amanda.

Committal services and burial were 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Clutier. Private visitation was Tuesday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. Memorials: may be directed to the family WATERLOO Nellie I.

Bailey 101, of the Tripoli Nursing Home, formerly of 1602 Burton died Monday, July 29, at the home of natural causes. She was born Nov. 16, 1900, in Webster City daughter of Charles and Pearl Jacobs Courier. She married Everett R. Bailey Sept.

30, 1922, in Waterloo. He died March 12, 1975. Mrs. Bailey and her husband farmed in Tripoli She also served as past president of the Waterloo Fireman's Auxiliary CEDAR FALLS Two men were arrested this week for allegedly beating a 25-year-old Cedar Falls man and his 21-year-old girlfriend in the Hy-Vee parking lot Tuesday Police are terming the incident a random act of violence. According to police reports, the man, his girlfriend and a male friend were leaving Hy-Vee with groceries at about 10:30 p.m.

Tuesday when they were approached and harassed by William Leo Wahl 21, of 3-103 Rownd St. Wahl allegedly began beating the man and was joined by Kenneit B. Johnson, 40, of 1026 W. Eighth St. According to reports, Johnson took a baseball bat from a vehicle and used it to assault the man.

The male victim was taken to Sartori Memorial Hospital for mostly head injuries. He received 34 stitches for a head wound. Police report the victims did not know the two men who assaulted them. The victims' names are being withheld at their request. Johnson was arrested for aggravated assault and assault without intent to do injury Wahl was arrested for willful bodily injury Harold N.

Erbele (1931-2002) WATERLOO Harold N. Erbele, 71, of Waterloo, died Wednesday July 31, at Allen Hospital of respiratory failure. He was born June 27, 1931, in Lehr, N.D., son of Martin H. and Ida Kuldon Erbele. He married Esther Figueroa Ruiz Jan.

24, 1953, at First Baptist Church in the Bronx in New York City Mr. Erbele worked for General Tire as a fleet manager for 20 years and then was self-employed in his own tire business, retiring in 1993. Memorials: may be directed to the church. Ralph Wikner Jr. (1935-2002) TRIPOLI Ralph Wikner 67, of Orlando, formerly of Tripoli, died at home Tuesday, July 30, of cancer.

He was born May 2, 1935, in Tripoli, son of Ralph Sr. and Elsie Wikner. Survivors include: his wife, Ann; a daughter, Lori, of Florida; three sons, Vance, Anthony and Dixon, all of Florida; five grandchildren; two sisters, Marianne Phelps of Minneapolis and Ellen Sneller of Cedar Falls; and three brothers, Mark of Cedar Falls, Ivan of Johnston and Vernon of New Hampton. Preceded in death by: two brothers; and a sister. Memorial services: will take place Aug.

7 in Orlando. Korean War. Survived by: his wife; two sons, Clark (Lori) of Cedar Falls and David of Richfield, three daughters, Judith (George) Marshall of Raymond, Rose (Nick) Horan of Cedar Falls and Teresa Erbele of Mason City; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Alvin (Eva) of Gackle, N.D.; and a sister, Miriam (Melvin) Fetzer of Preceded in death by: a brother, Duane. Wheeler (1920-2002) Sandra Nelson FORT ATKINSON Sandra Nelson, 43, of Fort Atkinson, died Sunday, July 28, from injuries from a deermotorcycle accident near Spillville. Survived by: her husband, Charles a daughter, Sara Mae Nelson of Fort Atkinson; her parents, Dan and Mary Moser of Fort Atkinson; a brother, David Paul Moser of La Crosse, and a sister, Susan Kay (Mike) Stammeyer of Fort OELWEIN Corrine Beverly Wheeler, 82, of Oelwein, died Wednesday, July 31, at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters, Oelwein, after a brief illness. She was a longtime Oelwein resident and had recently been a resident of the Grandview Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Oelwein, daughter of Guy and Bernice Woodward Atkinson.

She married Roderick D. Wheeler April 11. 1937. in Independence. He died April Waterloo Lewis W.

Duwe (1920-2002) POSTVILLE Viola A. Duwe, 81, of Postville, died Tuesday, July 30, at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 28, 1920, near Postville, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Bareis Duwe. Survived by: two sisters, Clara Schroeder and Helen Duwe.

Schwendeman (1981-2002) DECORAH Matthew A. Schwendeman, 20, of Decorah, died Wednesday, July 31, at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident on Locust Road north of Decorah.
