Hosting the event will be their children: Eva Marie Nelson of Providence, N.J.; Michael Pedersen of Waterloo; and Karol Ane Sole of Keokuk. Mr. Pedersen and Karen Paulsen were married Aug. 1, 1938, at Lutheran Memorial Church in Des Moines. Mr.

Pederson is a retired carpenter. He served on local, state and national Carpenter's Union CEDAR FALLS Mr. and Mrs. Paul Klotz, 1416 W. 18th will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m.

next Sunday at First United Methodist Church. The event will be hosted by their children: Taffy Johnson of Sioux City; Paula Marks of Denver, Stacy Rohwedder of Bloomington, and Lisa Sires. There are seven grandchildren. Mr. Klotz and Donna Brandenburg were married July 28, 1948, in Fredericksburg.

The couple owned and operated REINBECK Merlin and Jeanet-. te Adair will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next Sunday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at First Methodist Church. Hosting the event will be their children, Mrs. Dale (Beverly) Greiner and Curtis Adair.

There are six grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Mr. Adair and Jeanette Stumberg were married July 26, 1938, at the home of the bride's parents. No invitations are being sent, and the couple requests no gifts. Mr.

and Mrs. LeRoy Bahl, 1321 Columbus Drive, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. at their home. Mr. Bahl and Rose Schmidt were married June 15, 1938, in St.

Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. A Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated June 15 at St. Edward's Catholic Church. They are the parents of Mrs. Edward (Betty) Lipman of Newton, Gerald of Wichita, and Robert, deceased.

There are two grandsons. CEDAR FALLS Mr. and Mrs. Glen Chaplin will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house next Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Denver Country Club.

The event will be hosted by their nieces and nephews. Mr. Chaplin and Helen Franzen were married July 23, 1938, in Dubuque. No invitations are being sent, and the couple requests no gifts. Ice cream social set at OSAGE The congregation of Rock Creek Lutheran Church.

Meroa, will host its annual ice cream social and bazaar Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church. The menu will include homemade DISC JOCKEY Sunday, July 24, 1988 Mr. and Mrs. Pedersen boards for many years, and on the Waterloo Community Development Board for 26 years.

Hagarty-Noonan JESUP Announcement is being made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Michelle Elaine Hagarty and William Joseph Noonan, both of Forest City.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Hagarty, and Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Noonan of Monticello.

The bride-elect is an engineering coordinator and her fiance is a quality control engineer, both at Winnebago Industries. A Sept. 24 wedding is being planned for 2 p.m. at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup.

BIRTHDAYS DECORAH Charles G. Stoen will celebrate his 90th birthday at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. next Sunday at the Decorah Lutheran Church Social Hall. The event will be hosted by his children: Roger Stoen of Tell City, Mrs. Danny (Helen) Olson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mrs.

Sid (Frances) Curtis of Covina, Mrs. Roger (Dorhthy) Barstad of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Don (Mary) Marquard of Hampton. There are 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Stoen was born May 20, 1898 in Pleasant Township.

He began teaching in 1922 as superintendent of Baker Consolidated High School in North Dakota, and taught at Decorah High School where he organized the first high school band in 1925. He was elected Winneshiek Superintendent of Schools in 1933. During his administration, he reorganized the school district and North Winneshiek Community and Turkey Valley Community School District were formed. Stoen retired in 1964. He is a life member of the National Education Association and State Education Association.

He received the Luther College Achievement Award in 1964. The honoree requests no gifts. REUNIONS Cassman PARKERSBURG Thirty-six descendants of Peter Cassman gathered for their reunion July 17 at the park shelter. Oldest relative present was Orville Whited, 82, and the youngest person present was Chad Halfpop of Iowa Falls, Frericks GARWIN The 10th annual Frericks reunion took place July 10 at the Garwin park shelterhouse. Towns represented included Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Chelsea, Clarksville, Denver, Gladbrook, La Porte City, Marshalltown, Parkersburg, Shell Rock, Tama, Tripoli and Waverly.

Tanner Lee Schwab, months, son of Allen and Dorothy Schwab, was the youngest member present. Hosting the event were Raymond and Alma Jensen and Henry and Merle Frericks. Lauterbach family reunion July 17 at Wellsburg Memorial Building. The oldest member present was Jennie Lauterbach, 92, of Aplington; youngest present was Laura Huisinga, 9 months, daughter of Wesley and Lisa Huisinga. Howard and Ruth Rooney of Council Bluffs traveled the furthest distance.

Mr.

Nettleson was born and raised in the Greene community. He married Alice Canoe in 1940 and moved to Dumont. She died in 1947. Hazel Gerstenberger Hazel Gerstenberger of 118 John will celebrate her 90th birthday Aug. 2 with a card shower.

She has three daughters, Leota Lodholz of Ankeny, Roberta Luloff and Rose Marie Rugger. Hampton, Parkersburg, Shell Rock, Washington, Waterloo and Wellsburg. The reunion will be at the same location.

The groom chose his brother-inlaw, Kevin Curtis, as best man. Groomsmen were Chad Richards, cousin of the groom, and Steve Bisbee, brother of the groom. Guests were seated by Larry, Jim and Greg Boyer, all brothers of the bride. CEDAR FALLS Roger and Virginia Poock will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary today at 2 p.m. with an open house and dance at the Cedar Falls AMVETS.
