Wells Weekley. She married Richard J. Mercurio on Aug. 7, 1985, in Iowa City. He died June 10, 1986.

Survived by: a son, Kevin Schlachter of Webster City; two daughters, Darla Macomber and Shelly Tyler, both of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Harvey Weekley of Otterville, Billy Weekley of Gallatin, Larry Weekley of Brandon and Jerry Weekley of Waterloo; and four sisters, Hattie Johnston of Des Moines, Judy Shrum of Austin, and Betty Beenken and Darlene Becker, both of Waterloo. Preceded in death by: six brothers, Clarence, Sonny, Harold, Donald, Jack and Dewey Weekley; and Geraldine Titus and Esther Weekley. Hartleip, 89, of 2603 Drive, Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, of natural causes. He was born 1, 1913, in Waterloo, son of John and Letty Sime Hartleip.

He married Ruth Miller on May 28, 1941, in Waterloo. Mr. Hartleip graduated from Drake University as a pharmacist and practiced pharmacy in the Waterloo area for 55 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a chief pharmacist's mate.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, Bob of Sierra Vista, and Terry and Jerry, both of Waterloo; and seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: two brothers and four sisters. Services: 10:30 a.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. 18, 2001, at home of natural causes. She was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Waterloo, daughter of Russell and Dovie Evans Wood. She married Robert J. Laughlin on March 3, 1946, in Waterloo.

He died in 2000. Mrs. Laughlin was a receptionist for Dr. Mueller's office, an admitting clerk for Mercy Medical Center and a secretary at the Two Mile Machine Co. Survived by: a daughter, Bonnie Hufford of Clinton; four sons, Dale of Colona, Jon and Russ, both of Clinton, and Rod of Sabula; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a brother, Dale Wood of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a brother. Inurnment services: for Mrs. Laughlin her and her husband will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill. Family and friends may gather at the home of Bonnie Hufford, 1302 S.

Lee, 86, of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of Walnut Court Apartments, died Monday, Feb. 25, at the center from complications of advanced age. He was born Sept. 3, 1915, in Wisconsin, son of Grover Cleveland and Minnie Ellen Borden Lee. He married Marjorie Faye Row on Aug.

18, 1940, in Savage, Mont. She died Oct. 5, 1991. The Rev. Lee was ordained by Christian and Missionary Alliance, pastoring in Des Moines in 1953 and Waterloo in 1956.

After retirement he worked for the Salvation Army, Celebration First Assembly of God Church and the Black Hawk Raymond County Jail in ministry to inmates. He also min- Lee istered to several local long term care facilities. Survived by: cousins. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Celebrations First Assembly of God Church, with burial in Garden of Memories.

26, at the Covenant Medical Center emergency room of natural causes. He was born June 6, 1925, in Riceville, son of Vincent J. and Matilda Kleckner Dunlay. He married Ruth C. Byrnes on Oct.

30, 1948, at St. Mary's Chapel, New Haven. Mr. Dunlay was a machinist and assembler for John Deere for 36 years, retiring Aug. 31, 1983.

Survived by: his wife; nine sons, Tim of Ames, Danny, Mike, Pat, Dennis, Tom and John, all of Waterloo, Terry of Cedar Rapids and Brian of Olathe, three daughters, Colleen Hansen of Keith Hudson, Susie Billerbeck of Reinbeck and Nancy Dunlay Wolter of Shoreview, 33 grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Garner and Terry of Bloomington, and a sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Fox of Orchard. Dennis Morgan, 44, of 182 Lehman Circle, was listed in satisfactory condition today at Allen Hospital, according to medical staff.

Morgan had a large cut on his wrist and a small laceration to his neck, police said. His alleged attacker, Walter Junior Hayden, 48, of 1930 Ark was arrested for willful injury, going armed with intent and possession of crack cocaine. According to court records, UNI student leaders elected CEDAR FALLS University of Northern Iowa students have elected Jeff Scudder as the new president of the Northern Iowa Student Government, along with his vice presidential running mate, Emiliano Lerda. Of 2,971 votes cast, Scudder and Lerda garnered 1,623, or 55 percent. Presidential candidate Joe Earle and vice presidential candidate Jason Hutcheson finished with 1,011 votes, or 34 percent, while the team of Aaron Steele and Joey Hoover took 337 votes for 11 percent.

Had the top team finished with less than 50 percent of the vote, there would have been a run-off between the top two. Scudder is a junior from Clear Lake and Hampton, majoring in economics and finance. He has previously served as the NISG director of administration. Lerda is a sophomore in general communications who comes from Cordoba, Argentina. He has served as a senator in the student government.

Morgan tried to fight back and was cut on his wrist during the struggle. When police arrived, they allegedly saw Hayden, who had blood on his shirt and pants, drop a bag with alleged pieces of crack cocaine. Officers also found a glass pipe with crack residue on a table in the house, records state. Paid obituary Dorothy Margaret Borchers McCready Moses was born September 15, 1917, at Valley City, North Dakota, to George and Laura Schaffer Borchers.

She attended school at Valley City. She married David R. McCready on June 15, 1935. Mr. McCready died May 28, 1975.

She married Henry E. Moses on August 28, 1976. Mr. Moses died July 12, 1987. Mrs.

Moses was very active in Farmer Union as a young lady. Also 4-H. Mrs. Moses owned McCready Nursing Home from 1953 to 1970. She was the first class Dorothy president of 1957 of the Waterloo School of Moses Practical Nurses.

She served as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of N.E. Iowa Nursing Homes Association for many years. Also one year at the Iowa State Board of Nurses. She was very active as a volunteer including meals on wheels and the Salvation Army. She was named volunteer of the year in 1988 receiving the Golden Apple Award.

She served on the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church council for two terms. She was a mentor at Elk Run and Jewett schools. She leaves two sons, David McCready of Evansdale, Donald McCready of Evansdale; a special friend, Phil Jameison; four stepchildren, Larry, David and Raymond Moses of Waterloo and Judy Anderson of Cedar Falls; sister, Frances Howery of Tempe, Arizona; four grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded by: parents, two husbands, a brother, a granddaughter. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2002, at 10 a.m.

at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Evansdale. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home, and Saturday one hour before the service at the church..
