Anthony 72. of I l(X) Evergreen died Sunday, April 1 1, at Covenant Medical Center alter a brief illness. He was born April 12, 1926, in Ludington. son of Chesley and Hattie Paasch Anthony.

He married Frances VanLengen. They were later divorced. Mr. Anthony was a former truck driver for air freight at Waterloo Municipal Airport. He served with the Merchant Marines in the South Pacific.

Survived by: two sons, Dale C. Jr. of Mason City and Jimmy D. of Clarks Grove, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene M. Kelsey of Ludington.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Loris; and a sister, Waneta Maleckas. Services: There will be no visitation or services. His jjjjj Dale Anthony had worked as a private duty nurse to several Chicago families. She also worked as a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital for many years.

Survived by: a sister-in-law, Jean M. Carney of Florida. Preceded in death by: a brother, Joseph Doubek. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagar-ty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the church.

CEDAR FALLS Dr. Randall R. Bebb, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, April 1 1, at the Sartori Memorial Hospital emergency room of a heart attack. He was bom Feb. 2, 1913, in Louisa County, son of Robert D.

and Agnes H. McKee Bebb. He married Helen C. Schulz Sanborn on Dec. 23, 1957, in Cedar Falls.

Dr. Bebb served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as professor of teaching in 1 98 1 following 37 years at the University of Northern Iowa. He received a bachelor's degree in 1942 from the University of Northern Iowa, and both his master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Iowa.

He was past president of the Association of Teacher Educators, both national and state, was past president of the local chapter of Phi Delta Kappa and was past president of the Association of Childhood Education International, both local and state. Survived by: his wife; two sons, Mark R. Sanborn of Green Oaks, and Dennis E. Sanborn of Oelwein; five grandsons; and a brother, Aldon M. of PitLsburg, Kan.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Austen and Forest; and a sister, F. Marie Williams. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Church of Christ, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m.

and Ruth J. Theis Moorhous Jr. He married Cathie Fox on June 1 5, 1 985, in Waterloo. Mr. Moorhous received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University, Lafayette, and a master's degree form Stritch College, Milwaukee, Wis.

He was a product engineer at Vesuvius Americas, Champaign, 111. Survived by: his wife; and two sons, Dan Rose of Chicago and Scan Rose of Savoy; his parents of Carmel, and two brothers, Greg M. of Arcadia, and Scott A. of Noblesville, Ind. Services: 1 1 a.m.

Marshall, 91, of Ridgeway Place, died Sunday, April 1 1 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes. She was bom Jan. 17, 1908, in Chicago. Rose M. Doubek married Vincent Marshall on Feb.

10, 1934, in Chicago. He died Jan. 7, 1979. Mrs. Marshall received her nursing training at Mercy Hospital, Chicago, and Theft: Rhonda Spears or 2022 Kimball Ave.

SHERIFF'S LOG Adriena Dorlyn Sawyers, 29, of 643 Kern was arrested Monday in the 1 100 block of Highway 63 on warrants for child endangerment, serious, and assault with intent to injure. No further information was available. Noel Edward Morris, 33, of 1 13 Oak Washburn, was arrested Monday on a warrant for first-degree theft. The charge stemmed from a civil action by a Waterloo bank. Morris allegedly defaulted on a loan he obtained and the bank proceeded to repossess a boaL two boat motors and a global positioning system.

Irvin Lamont Williams, 19, of 540 Dawson was arrested today at 1615 Bishop Ave. for sale and manufacture of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana and a drug stamp violation. During a traffic stop, he was alleged found with rocks of crack cocaine in his socks and shoes and a marijuana blunt. Robbery: Lola Montgomery reported today that an armed man entered her home at 717 Glenwood St.

and robbed her of $800 at gunpoint. Dalloway." Cunningham teaches creative writing at Columbia University. Strand, 65, was United States poet laureate in 1990-91 and now teaches at the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago. He also has taught at Iowa Writers' Workshop, including a stint as Graham's teacher. The workshop hopes lo bring him back next year for the spring semester as a visiting faculty member. As the poetry prize winner, Strand was preceded most recently by Iowa graduates Charles Wright in 1998, Graham in 19 and Phillip Levine in 1995.

Alice Notley, also an Iowa graduate, was a finalist for the poetry award for her book, "Descent of Alette." IOWA CITY (AP) When the Pulitzer Prizes were announced, University of Iowa Writers' Workshop graduates got their share. Michael Cunningham, a 1980 graduate, won the fiction prize for his novel, "The Hours." Mark Strand, a 1962 graduate, won for "Blizzard of One," his ninth book of poems. He is the fourth Iowa graduate in the past five years to win the Pulitzer for poetry. The awards, announced Monday in New York City, bring to 26 the number of Pulitzers won by workshop faculty or students. Police found a window on the west side of the building had been broken, allowing entry to the store by the bur glar or burglars. Several thousand dollars worth of cigarettes, meat and other items were taken. Police investigated the burglary about 5 am.
