Parents of the couple are Arthur and Leona Mulholland of Kanawha, and Harlan and Betty Van Gerpen. Vows were exchanged at 1:30 p.m. at First Evangelical Free Church in Ames, with the Rev. Larry Austin officiating. Attending her sister as maid of honor was Jean Goepel of Britt.

The bride was escorted by her uncle, Dr. Ronald Bro. The groom chose his brother, Tom Van Gerpen of Bettendorf, as best man.
