The Sunday, February 12, 2017 B7 00 1 Bruce W. Mueller (1949-2017) STG a ruce W. Mueller, 67, of Westgate, died at home Thursday, Feb. 9, of fibrosis of the lungs and congestive heart failure. He was born on ec.

21, 1949, in Waterloo, son of lsworth and arlene urrows Mueller. He married Karlen Kae Finch on a pril 10, 1970, at aymond nited Methodist Church. ruce graduated from unkerton High School in 1968 and from Hawkeye Tech Community College in 1970 with an aa degree in electronics. He worked for many ewar farmers, milking and making hay and for John G. Miller Construction.

He served in the a rmy during the Vietnam era. He worked at John eere in Waterloo as an electrician for 36 years, retiring in 2015. a fter retirement, ruce served as a city councilman for the city of Westgate. He was a member of the aymond nited Methodist Church. Survived by his wife; children, Song a nn Mueller of San Francisco, rian ancee a nnette) Mueller of Oelwein, Chris (Jennifer) Hauser of a plington and Scott (Shana) Mallinger of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Steve (Liz) of enver and Gail obin) of Waterloo; and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

NE IOWA DEATHS OBITUARIES Bruce Mueller Dean Wiarda (1920-2017) rundy en er ean Wiarda, 96, of Grundy Center, died Monday, Feb. 6, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Long Term Care. He was born a ug. 20, 1920, son of Jacob and ena a ckerman) Wiarda. He was raised and educated in Iowa.

He married Ferne Klink on Sept. 4, 1945, at the Little rown Church in ashua. She preceded him in death. ean was in the life and health insurance business since 1957; the last 21 years with orthwestern ational Life Insurance of Minneapolis. ean and Ferne farmed together in ike, ows and Stout.

He was active in the Masons, becoming Worshipful Master in 1961 and again in 1969. He joined the Cedar apids Scottish ite odies in ovember 1966. ean received the Honorary Investure of Knight Commander Court of Honor in October 1977, and served on the Cedar apids Council of Kadosh and was Commander in 1983. He was also a former member of astern Star. ean joined the l-Kahir Shrine in ovember 1966.

He was also a member of the International Shrine Clowns a ssociation and the Central States Shrine Clowns a ssociation. He was a member of the Clowns of a merica International since 1970 and World Clowns a ssociation for more than 15 years. ean was a long-time member of the nited Methodist Church in Grundy Center, and was a Grundy Center volunteer fire ghter. Survivors: his children Judy (Larry) uchan and their son, Shannon uchan, all of Waterloo, Sandi Hill and her daughter, Morgan Hill, both of Cary, and his son, ennis eanna) Wiarda of Loveland, Colo. She worked as a clerk at ath Packing Co. in Waterloo from 1946-1951. She married Paul Louis Tonn Jr. on June 27, 1948, in Independence. He died in 2001.

She was a member of the a merican Lutheran Church. She also worked as a aide with special needs students for the a rea ducation a gency at Jesup Community Schools. LaVelle (1937-2017) ar er bur Wayne Frederick LaVelle 79, of Parkersburg, died at home Tuesday, Feb. 7. He was born ec. 3, 1937, in mmettsburg, son of Vernon and Maurene LaVelle. He married Jo Wanda Tucker at St.

a Cathedral in Little ock, a rk. on ov. 27, 1958. He graduated from unkerton High School in 1955, and served in the a ir Force from 1955 through 1959. He worked for Iowa Public Mid- a merican nergy for 33 years, retiring in 1996 after becoming disabled.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, ryan (Maggie), ave (Karen) and obert (Suean); three daughters, Susan Jansen, honda (Je eisinger and Maureen an) Crotty; 16 grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with another one on the way, and six stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon and a brother-in-law, ernard Musch. 12, 1934, in Ionia, son of John and Sophie (Tilkes) Flick. He received his education at St. oniface School in Ionia. He was a veteran of the a rmy. He married Shirley Steifel on Oct.

19, 1963, in ew Hampton. She died Feb. 1, 1986. Jerome worked many years as a machinist at John eere and at the former White Farm quipment Co. a fter the closing of White Farm, he worked at the Sara Lee plant in ew Hampton for 12 years, retiring in 1998.

Survivors: three sons, Mike of Waterloo, John of Charles City and ay of ashua; three daughters, Jackie Flick of Osage, obin Flick of Chicago and achel Flick of ubuque; a brother, obert etty) of Charles City; and a sister, Kathy Flick of Charles City.
